The Workshop

The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is an evidence-based intervention specifically developed for children with autism aged between 12 – 48 months. ESDM is playbased, fusing behavioural & developmental principles into an integrated approach.

In this introductory workshop you will learn about the theoretical and empirical framework, curriculum & teaching principles of ESDM.

Aims

Learn more about the theoretical and empirical framework, programmes and principles of the ESDM model, a developmental, behavioural and relational intervention programme for infants and young children aged 12 to 48 months with ASD. 

Themes

  • ESDM principles
  • Introduction to the developmental assessment of the child's abilities
  • Introduction to the implementation of individualised and developmentally appropriate learning objectives

This workshop will be held in English.

To whom is the workshop aimed?
Any parent or professional concerned with early intervention in autism.

What will I get?
This course is a certificate course in the ESDM curriculum. A certificate will be issued by the University of California, Davis, MIND Institute.

Melissa Mello, M.A., BCBA, has over 10 years of experience working with children with ASD in a variety of settings.  She is certified in ESDM, a naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention that incorporates PRT, and has extensive experience using behaviorally-based, empirically-validated treatments for children with ASD.
